Impact - The difference it makes to our pupils
The impact of our science curriculum is that pupils:
- Develop secure and connected scientific knowledge that prepares them well for secondary education.
- Demonstrate curiosity, enthusiasm and confidence when exploring scientific ideas.
- Use scientific vocabulary accurately and purposefully when discussing their learning.
- Apply scientific enquiry skills effectively to investigate questions and solve problems.
- Understand how scientific knowledge develops through observation, testing and evidence.
- Make meaningful connections between science and the wider world.
- Recognise the contribution of scientists from a range of backgrounds and understand the importance of science in society.
- Achieve well regardless of their starting points, with all pupils supported to make strong progress.
By the time pupils leave Medstead CE Primary School, they have developed the knowledge, skills and confidence to think scientifically, question thoughtfully and engage positively with the world around them, ready for the next stage of their learning journey.
