Maple Class has been split into three spelling groups: Green, Blue and Orange.  These were organised following results from their spelling assessments at the end of Year 2 and in consultation with their Year 2 teacher.  The children now know which group they are in, and have taken home a half-termly set of spellings to learn on the appropriate coloured card.  A 'Snoopy' practice sheet will be sent home weekly to help them learn their spellings, but these do not need to come back to school.  The Progress Sheet (coloured card in a plastic pocket) should stay in their bags so that they can add their scores each week.  Copies of all sheets can be found below. 

Spelling groups are flexible, so please do ask if you have any queries!

PLEASE NOTE: Those children who are in a Phonics group will not be expected to learn weekly spellings as they are working on RWI letters and sounds every day in their Phonics sessions.  They will be given a bookmark with the 'tricky words' for their group, which they should practise regularly.  Therefore, they are NOT assigned to a weekly spelling group for now.
