Medstead Church of England Primary School

Achieving excellence for all children

within an inspiring and inclusive environment

Useful Information

View of the Future Presentation

At Medstead we are dedicated to working with parents. We acknowledge you as your children's first educators and want to build on your valued input into your children's early years, and lives outside school, to achieve the very best outcomes for your child.

We encourage parents to help their children maximise their learning opportunities through prompt arrival for the start of each school day and good attendance.

We host Parent Teacher Meetings through the year and produce annual written reports detailing children's interests, achievements, personal and social development. Teachers are always happy to speak with parents on a day to day basis about their children. This positive, regular dialogue enables good relationships to be built up in the best interests of the children in our care.

You will find us a very visible and approachable staff with school adults always available on the playground at drop off and collection times as well as in the School Office.

We believe we are privileged to be the educators of your children!

Communication is a two way process and we continually encourage parents to reach out to us when they need help with anything. The process is:

Contact your child’s Class Teacher via the Office

Office Staff note this contact and follow up with the Class Teacher a week on to check progress.

If needed, the next point of contact is a Senior Leader within the Key Stage who is not your child’s Class Teacher, the office staff will arrange for them to contact you when you let them know you still need more help after speaking to the Class Teacher.

Senior Leaders are Mrs Pullen (for parents with children in Yrs 1 & 2),

Mrs Hickey (for parents with children in Yrs R, 3 & 6),

Mrs Burningham (for parents with children in Yrs 4 & 5)

Having spoken to a Senior Leader, the next point of contact is our Assistant Headteacher, Mrs Hickey, or  Headteacher, Mr Hunt.
