Reading comprehension is a relatively new skill for Year 1, one that will need specifically teaching, so the children may need more support. Completing a little bit each day is the best way to approach it and remember to point your child back to the text for the answer. If it it becomes stressful, please don't worry, leave it for another time!
We have uploaded a variety of comprehensions, within each one there are three levels of difficulty, they go by star ratings, 1 star easiest to 3 stars being the hardest. We suggest you start at 1 star and increase if they are confident.
We have added lots different ones so the children can choose the ones they are interested in. We do not want you to do them all, just a couple!
Feedback to Mrs Carpenter and Miss Jones would be greatly appreciated on these reading comprehension activities. This can be done via the admin email address. Thank you!
