Phonics
Hi Larch Class, this week your sounds are 'oy' and 'oi'. There will be different activities each day to complete and there will be the new addition of a daily tricky word where I would like you to play our 'tricky word challenge' game. You can do this on your own, ie: how many times can you write it in a minute? or how long does it take you to write the word 10 times, or instead of 'Beat the Teacher' is there someone else you can play against? Maybe a grown up or a brother or sister? Who can write the word the most in 60 seconds? Lots of different ways of playing. Below is an example of how to structure your phonics lessons at home, similar to how we do it in class:
1. Start by watching to video of our sounds. Read the sounds as you sing them
2. Write out today's words containing the day's sound. Remember to dot-and-dash your words
3. Complete the assigned activities for that day
4. Tricky word challenge. Learn to read and write the day's common exception word
There are lots of ways to learn phonics. You can write sounds in the sand, a paint brush and water on concreate, make words out of play-doh, so if you can, try and get creative with your learning!
Please upload one activity for each grapheme and one revision activity to Tapestry.
