Here are a selection of Learning Resources and fun outdoor activities I have gathered from a variety of different sources. Many of these activities tie in with curriculum learning and topics you may have talked about at school such as habitats, food chains, plant labelling, Maths and English challenges. Any of the activities you attempt will hopefully help you enjoy and appreciate the natural world around you and could be a great starting point for a story or diary entry.
There is a section 'Helping Nature', how you can perhaps make a nectar bar for butterflies, build a bird box or start your own compost. There is a section 'Identifying Nature,' to help with identifying everything from caterpillars to trees and lots inbetween. There is a section 'Learning in Nature' to help you develop your understanding of the natural world and further your Learning on a variety of topics. The 'Hands on Activities' section has projects that cover a wide variety of topics and challenge levels most of which you should be able to attempt in your own back gardens.
I hope you enjoy these resources and please feel free to email pictures of your creations into school.
