Medstead Pre-School and Nursery is a community run setting, located in the grounds of Medstead Primary School. They are affiliated to, and held under the constitution of, the Pre-School Learning Alliance. They are also a Registered Charity in their own right and are registered with, and approved by, the Early Years Directorate with the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED).

They have also been awarded the 'PLA Aiming for Quality' quality assurance award.

Similar to Medstead Primary School, the playgroup provides a Total Communication environment for the education of Hearing Impaired children, supporting this through a high proficiency in British Sign Language and the promotion of signing in families and the wider community via Sign Language courses.
